The Del Valle Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved calling a Voter-Approved Tax Ratification Election for the November 3 ballot. Proposition A would provide $13.9 million of new funding to Del Valle ISD in the current fiscal year (and is expected to provide at least as much each year thereafter) to support the district’s Maintenance & Operations (M&O) instructional budget.

The district has officially announced Nichole Thompson as the new principal of the Opportunity Center and DAEP, following approval at the June 16, 2026 Board of Trustees meeting. Ms. Thompson was selected for her unique ability to balance rigorous academic support with a compassionate, restorative approach to student behavior.

Del Valle ISD is providing an important update regarding the opening of North Del Valle High School. After a detailed review of the surrounding roadway infrastructure timelines, the opening must be delayed from Fall 2027 to Fall 2028. This change is due to factors outside of the district’s control.

As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, we want to share an update on our budget development process. While we have been working throughout this spring on next year’s budget, we now have a clear picture of our financial situation and the plan we have created to move forward.

Beginning Wednesday, February 25, Principal Larry De La Cruz will transition to a new role with district administration in Del Valle ISD. Starting Wednesday, Dr. Stacie Holiday will serve as Executive Principal of Del Valle High School.
